Shower doors as we all know play a very important role in protecting the privacy of the person while using the bathroom. They are as important as the bathroom itself. You need only a few locally available materials. Among the items needed are:
- White vinegar
- Sponges or soft clothes
- Lemon oil
The first step is to start by mixing the water and vinegar in a bucket. The state of the door is what determines the amount of vinegar to be used. The more the build up on the door, the more the vinegar that one is supposed to add to the water.
The next step is to moisten a soft cloth or sponge using the water and vinegar mixture.
Rubbing the sponge or water on the door is the next step. This is aimed at removing any soap and water hard water stains that may have build up on the door. It is advisable to keep adding the water and vinegar mixture so as to keep the place wet when scrubbing.
After cleaning thoroughly, the next step is to rinse the place with clean water until it is spotlessly clean.
The next process is to dry the door with a clean soft cloth. This is aimed at removing any excess water and also to make the door shine.
If there are still water spots on the door, there are two ways that the person cleaning can do to remove them.
The first way is to wipe the place with white vinegar on a soft cloth or sponge. White vinegar removes hard water stains and soap scums very well.
The other option that can be taken is to apply lemon oil to the door if it is clean using a soft cloth or sponge as well. This is aimed at making the glass shine at all times.
This is all that one needs to do to have a well cleaned door. If there are instances where the homeowner notices any signs of mildew or mold, it is always important to use mild bleach that is mixed with white vinegar. It is also important to choose the right products for washing the glass. There are some products that are made to wash tiles and might not be very suitable to wash glass. They end up etching the class hence leaving the glass with a dull filmy appearance. If again the door is getting a lot of soap scum, it is important to switch to using liquid soap.
