In this survey, it has shown that phlebotomy technicians are paid the most in New York, where the average salary for this career is $35,000. Then, there’s California where the average is $32, 500, Illinois with $31,000, Texas with $29,000, Florida with $27,500, North Carolina with $27,000, and finally Georgia with an average annual salary of $25,000.
Now, this salary may not seem like very much, but this is a fairly simple job to get started with. It is even possible to start work as a phlebotomist with no previous certification. These jobs are hard to find if you do not have a certification, but it is still possible. To become qualified as a phlebotomy technician doesn’t take very long though. Some training programs just take six to seven weeks, then you are ready to start work. So, the salary is fairly good when you consider the short amount of time that it takes to become certified and start looking for a job and if you are good at your job, there are always opportunities for promotion.
